WEIGHT LOSS WEDNESDAYS: EATING PLAN

Hi my name is Sarah, and I am fat. You may remember these words from my very first Weight Loss Wednesday post. Well, my name is still Sarah, and I am still fat. Yep, crazy how the weight doesn’t just melt away all by itself, right?

As I mentioned last week, you may have noticed I haven’t been sticking to any kind of eating plan, and I kind of fell off the wagon with the Optifast diet. Why? Well, there’s a few reasons.

Number one: the program is really strict about when/where you can be on the diet. You can’t miss “class” more than two weeks in a row, and you also can’t be on the program if you go out of the country. I was out of the country for about two weeks when we went to Europe, so I HAD to go off the diet. Not that I would’ve wanted to be on a liquid diet while I was on my once-in-a-lifetime vacation, but it was nice to have an excuse.

Number two: the Optifast cost is pretty high. And after our expensive vacation, it’s been hard to justify the cost, especially since I still have tons of Optifast shakes that piled up when I was supposed to be on the Optifast diet but was deciding to eat instead (AKA Optifast cheating, lol).

Number three: the program is HARD. I don’t know if I said this before, but it’s not just hard, it’s effin’ hard. Like, you literally eat nothing for 20 weeks. And when you have a lot going on in your life, plus you’re a stress eater, it’s very hard to stick to that. I know that losing weight is just hard in general, but this is kind of one of the hardest ways I know of to do it (short of getting your jaw wired shut or something like that).
